Golfers from the Gokarna Forest Golf Resort Club, Nepal will provide the foreign flavour to the Signature Club Golf Championship 2009 when they play their intra-club round on November 21 to pick the club team that will play in the Eastern Regional Finals at the Royal Calcutta Golf Club (RCGC) on December 8.

A total of 9 clubs are in the fray to select the champion club and the Intra-Club rounds will decide the teams that will represent these clubs. The selected teams will then face-off to decide the champion club, who will battle it out with representatives from the Southern, Western and Northern Regions in the all-India/Nepal final to decide the champion gold club.

Golfers will vie for the six spots in the Gokharna Forest Golf Resort Club team that will feature in the Eastern Regional finals. For the first time, the tournament is being played in the Power Play Golf format, a unique and exciting format, dubbed the “T20” of golf, being introduced for the first time in Asia through these championships. Power Play Golf is played over nine holes and has been founded by golf legend Peter McEvoy.

Over 7000 amateur golfers from 43 clubs across 30 cities will have featured in the Signature Club Golf 2009, when it concludes on December 16, 2009.
