Children for Green new Nepal

Being a brand ambassador of CGNN (Children for Green New Nepal), Ciney Gurung has written a song Hariyo Ban and was launched in a fund raising event that was successfully organized on 23rd October at Rastriya Sabha Griha. The song has been sung by Bijay Prajapati (project coordinator of CGNN) with a view towards the lack of songs related towards environmental issues.

Video for the song was screened in the event which was directed by Rojesh Shrestha (husband to Ciney Gurung and front man of the band X-Mantra). Priti Kaur, Ciney Gurung, Nalina Chitrakar, Prasna Shakya, Araj Keshav and Mausami Gurung performed at the event, which was added by cultural dance performances by Ahuti Kala Kendra and AKN Eco Club. A documentary on environmental awareness was also shown in the event.

The music video has cast of various celebrities like Ciney Gurung, Nirnaya Da NSk, Sugarika K.C, Thendup Sherpa and volunteers of CGNN. The concept of music video lies in providing education and awareness about various environmental issues through the presence of assorted personalities along with real footages of environmental related events and happenings. CGNN developed the song to raise awareness about various environmental issues like global warming, climate change, pollution and deforestation. The organization felt that Nepali scenario lacks songs with social messages especially environmental messages.
